Hey, I'm Mia
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent and an expatriate living in Berlin, Germany.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Germany wasn’t in our long-range plan. As with many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Mill Craft Gear
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical insight drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and everyday experiences
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- A resource for tourism authorities
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Germany goes on, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue to document our discoveries.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Mia
